History

For more than 23 years, KNR Productions has been dedicated to creating theater that entertains, inspires, and transforms. Founded on faith, purpose, and the belief that storytelling has the power to change lives, KNR Productions exists to produce thought-provoking performances that encourage audiences to think critically, grow spiritually, and positively impact the world around them.

Origin

​

The journey began with a calling. While studying English at the University of Memphis, our founder discovered that his true passion was theater. Although the path was unexpected, it became clear that the stage could be just as powerful as a pulpit or a classroom; a place where stories could teach, encourage, heal, and minister to people from all walks of life.

Mission

​

What began as a passion for writing evolved into a mission. Each production thoughtfully blends authentic life experiences with timeless spiritual principles, creating performances that entertain while leaving audiences inspired long after the final curtain falls.

KNR Productions is also committed to investing in the next generation. Through transformative theater arts education, the organization nurtures young performers while helping them develop creativity, confidence, discipline, leadership, and self-expression. By cultivating talent both on and off the stage, KNR empowers youth to discover their voices and realize their potential.

Offstage

Beyond the stage, service has always been central to our mission. KNR Productions proudly supports the Memphis community through charitable outreach and partnerships with organizations, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and The Down Syndrome Association of Memphis & the Mid-South. We believe that the impact of theater extends far beyond the audience; it reaches families, neighborhoods, and future generations.

Our story continues to unfold with every production we stage, every young artist we mentor, and every audience we inspire. Guided by faith and fueled by purpose, KNR Productions remains dedicated to using theater as a catalyst for education, empowerment, and positive change throughout Memphis and beyond.

Your interest in our work means more than you know.

From the very beginning, my mission has been to create productions that are not only well-crafted and entertaining but also meaningful, inspiring, and impactful. Every performance reflects our commitment to excellence, integrity, and purposeful storytelling.

​

Writing has always been deeply personal to me. Every script begins with a simple question: Does it move me? If it doesn't make me laugh, cry, reflect, or sing, I continue writing until it does. My greatest joy comes from watching our talented cast bring those stories to life and seeing audiences experience them for the very first time.

​

Like every journey, ours has included moments of both celebration and challenge. Through every obstacle, our faith has remained our foundation. Time and time again, we have witnessed God's faithfulness, strength, and guidance—not only in my own life but in the lives of every cast member who has been called to this stage. Each person is thoughtfully chosen, and I believe every production carries a purpose far greater than entertainment alone.

One of the greatest influences on this journey was my mother. Her unwavering faith, strength, and love were a constant source of encouragement and the driving force behind my passion to minister, teach, produce, and uplift others through the arts. Although she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in every production we create and every life we strive to impact. I carry her spirit with me onto every stage, honoring her memory by continuing the work she inspired me to do.
